Stormwater management, erosion on New Durham Planning Board agenda

NEW DURHAM— The local Planning Board will meet tonight to discuss a number of agenda items, including the town's new stormwater management and erosion control regulations.

The regulations will be certified at the meeting after passing through a public hearing last month and will aim to protect the quality of all waterbodies in town, reduce the danger and destruction from flooding, and protect the financial security of the town, the tax base of which depends significantly on high quality waterbodies.

The regulations aim to allow opportunities for expanding existing structures and building new structures near bodies of water in ways that protect water quality and protect against flooding.
