If you haven't heard by now, Ohio is in a whole new zone -- plant-hardiness zone, that is.
Last month, the U.S. Department of Agriculture released its Plant Hardiness Zone Map, the first update since 1990, that shifts most of Ohio from Zone 5 to Zone 6. The new map reflects sustained warming in the Buckeye State and much of the country.
This didn't come as big news to folks in the botanical industry, especially since the Arbor Day Foundation issued its hardiness zone map reflecting a climate shift about six years ago.
